As you see on the homepage, I put up a link under News for the FAAN Food Allergy Walk site. FAAN stands for Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network. On September 26th, we will be attending the 4th Annual FAAN Walk for A Cure at Brook Run Park in Dunwoody. Along with the 2 mile walk, there will a lot of fun activities for the whole family. My mom is one of the Walk CoChairs.
Why would I put a link to a food allergy walk on a blog about a book?
Well, I’m a ten year old girl with very severe food allergies to milk and peanuts. There have been many people who make me feel bad about it. They don’t understand what it is to live with food allergies. It is not fun.
FAAN held a Young Ambassador Contest. I had to write an essay about what has happened with my food allergies. I was the winner and I will be the Atlanta Walk Ambassador with another adult who still has food allergies. This means we might do news stories and we’ll have to stand up in front of lots of people and talk. But I don’t care. I have lots to say.
Please support us and click on the links to the website. Donate money. Maybe you can walk with us. And it’s not just any walk. It’s got entertainment and it supports those with food allergies. I might end up having food allergies my whole life, but I don’t care. I’m just the same as everyone else.
